Founded in 1994, Combatives Unlimited is a martial arts studio lead by founder and head instructor Juan Roberto Perez.

 

Coach Juan is both a passionate and knowledgeable instructor who puts a strong emphasis on sound fundamentals and attention to detail with all of his students. What began in 1994 while working as an Army Ranger, he has been involved in martial arts for over 35 years training with many notable instructors from around the world.

 

Studying extensively and undergoing years of intense training has led to his FULL INSTRUCTORS' CREDENTIALS in:

Working with Burton Richardson

Juan has also earned his instructorship with Burton Richardson. Juan assisted Burton in teaching many classes at the JKDU headquarters in Honolulu, Hawaii. Juan was also featured in many magazine articles with Burton and assisted Burton in his “Choke Em Out” and “The Science to The Fight” DVD series.

 

Military Experience

Juan Perez has more than 20 years of military experience as a Airborne Ranger serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, Panama, Hawaii, Georgia, and North Carolina with the Fort Bragg 82nd Airborne Division. Juan was in charge of the hand-to-hand combat program for the U.S. Army Rangers from 1994 to 1997, and from 2001 to 2003 while assigned to Charlie Company 4th Ranger Training Battalion.
